I just got back from 10 days in Los Angeles, where I got to record rock legends The Melvins for producer Sylvia Massy (Tool, RHCP, Prince, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Rick Rubin) at The Village Recorder, one of the best studios around. It was filmed for a MWTM production video with Sylvia’s techniques + approaches and should be out soon.
It was the fourth project with Sylvia but still very very special as the first time in the US and, especially in L.A., where I always wanted to go. I had a great time, met many great people, old friends and made new ones and got to see quite a lot (also NRG Studios and Maor Appelbaum’s mastering studio). Will see if I can put a few more pics soon.
